Delete your account

The short version: most of what Imbue holds is on your own phone, and deleting the app takes it with you. The one thing kept on our side is an email address, if you chose to add one. You can delete that from inside the app at any time, or ask us to do it if you have already uninstalled.

If you still have the app

Open Imbue and go to Settings, then Your data and privacy, then Delete your account. That removes your email address from our records and unlinks the app on that phone. It cannot be undone.

In the same place, Erase all my data goes further: it clears everything Imbue has stored on the phone, including your reading, your notes and your saved things, and it deletes any posts you have made on the Wall of Support from our server.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Email hello@withimbue.com from the address you used, and ask us to delete your account. We will remove it and reply to confirm. Please allow a few days.

We ask you to write from the address itself because it is the only thing that tells us which account is yours. We hold no name, no password and no other way to identify you.

What is deleted, and what is not

Deleting your account removes your email address and the link between it and the app. It does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are held by Google Play, not by us, so if you want to stop one, do that in the Play Store under Subscriptions.

If you have bought a subscription or the one-time unlock, anything you have paid for stays yours: it belongs to the purchase, and restoring the purchase brings your audio minutes and recordings back. If your subscription has already ended, any unused audio minutes are lost when the account is deleted, because there is no longer a purchase that can recover them.

Wall of Support posts are removed separately, with Erase all my data in the app. Everything on the wall is also deleted automatically after six months.

What we hold in the first place

Very little. There is no account to create in order to use Imbue, and no sign-in to read, listen or use the tools. An email address is asked for only before your first custom audio session or your first post to the wall, and it is only ever used to send you a sign-in code. No spam and no marketing, ever. The privacy policy explains all of it in full.
